Bed & Breakfast

The Rectory has three double bedrooms and can provide one twin room.

Necessessities:  All bedrooms have radios and WiFi/high speed broadband, dressing tables/desk and chair plus plenty of available plug sockets. In the bathrooms we supply bath and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.

Morning Tea:  Each bedroom has tea and coffee making equipment and we offer a thermos flask of cold milk to take up to your room before bed.

Other things: A hair-drier is available should you need it plus things like needle, thread and spare buttons, ironing board and iron and things that forgot to go into the suitcase such as razors or toothbrushes. So sorry but we cannot supply dressing gowns or slippers.

Sorry, but all our bedrooms are non-smoking. We have a nice veranda with seating where you are very welcome to smoke. Weather permitting, we put out the cushions.

GranolaDorset Breakfast

We buy bacon, sausages, black pudding and lambs kidneys from Else’s Butchery in Stalbridge and also from Holebrooks in Sturminster Newton. Sourdoughs and other breads are from Reeve’s Bakery in Wilton and we source local milk, butter, tomatoes and mushrooms when possible. Our muesli and granola is from Dorchester and yoghurt from Yeo Valley or other local suppliers. Breakfast drinks are teas, coffee and hot chocolate, plus freshly squeezed orange juice.

Fresh eggs from our Neighbours

Breakfast eggs are from our neighbouring farm, Glebe farm – the hens are visible from bedrooms, foraging in a paddock. If the hens are not laying, we always try to buy fresh local eggs.

Local Specialities

We are lucky enough to have in our village the only fish farm in the UK rearing Arctic Char, a fish with delicate pink-white flesh related to salmon, available to buy from the farm gate. Honey is also made in the village as well as cider, brewed – appropriately enough – by our neighbour Rosie with apples from her own orchard.
